- They are employed by manufacturers in virtually all industries and are paid to design the appearance and aesthetics of diverse products while considering the size, shape, weight, color, materials, ergonomics, cost, and convenience
- The job includes creating sketches, models, and blueprints—often using computer-aided design (CAD).
